OK, but I don’t want A5. I want a different size. I also want the images to bleed. Is there an easy way to work out what document size I should start with? Yes, but this is where the arithmatic comes in. We’ll keep it simple but is necessary to take your time with this and be precise. What size is your closed book. (This will be the same as the size of your inner pages of course). Let’s use 130 mm wide by 216 mm tall. What is the width of your spine (we learned how to work this out earlier). Let’s use 8.4 mm Back Cover Spine Front Cover ® ® BLEED AREA 3mm 3mm 3 + 130 + 8.4 + 130 + 3 = 274.4 ® ®
