So what size document do I need? If you understood how we got to 274.4, you will have quickly worked out that the other measurement you need is 222.0. (3 + 216 + 3) So start with a document measuring 274.4 x 222 mm . How do I set up a document that size? You will find all you need to know in the flip book we ceated about Bleed. How do I accurately work out where my spine starts and stops? Using the diagram opposite, fill in all your own figures. That will then show you where the guides should be drawn. For example, in this diagram, the guides should be at 133 mm & 141.4 mm . InDesign & Quark (Note that with InDesign and Quark, there is only a need to create a document at the finished size as you can add bleed from within the layout page itself).
